2025 Focus Areas: Tires and Hour of Service Records
This year’s Roadcheck places special emphasis on two critical areas that can quickly sideline your fleet:
- Tire Violations – Inspectors will thoroughly check tires for proper tread depth and inflation while looking for dangerous tire damage including air leaks, tread separation, cuts, bulges, sidewall damage, and improper repairs. Tire failures not only cause unexpected downtime but also create serious safety hazards for everyone on the road.
- False Records of Duty Status (RODS) – Inspectors will scrutinize hours-of-service compliance, watching for electronic logging device (ELD) tampering, driving while not logged in, disconnected devices, and improper edits. These violations carry serious consequences for both drivers and carriers.
